This Privacy Policy, as amended or otherwise changed from time to time (the “Privacy Policy”), explains the manner in which Bitfinance (Private) Limited (“Golix”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses user information obtained through the golix.com website (the “Site”). The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Bitfinance (Private) Limited. By using the Site, you (“User”) consent to the data practices prescribed in this Privacy Policy. On occasion, Golix may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, our personal data collection and use practices, the features on the Site, or advances in technology. Capitalised terms not defined herein shall have the meanings ascribed to them in our Terms & Conditions.

The information we collect

Before an account is opened on our Site, we may require that you avail to us your phone number as well as your email address. Upon creating an account on our Site, we may require that you avail to us your full name, date of birth, national registration number, copy of your identity document, (if you are Zimbabwean); and if the applicant is a foreign national temporarily resident in Zimbabwe their valid passport with a valid permit, a certificate of incorporation together with the latest annual tax return to the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority if you are a body corporate incorporated in Zimbabwe; a copy of your password (if you are not Zimbabwean); and your residential address.

We also collect the information you provide to BitFinance when interacting with our customer support or other staff members via email, online form, social media, or other correspondence. We also collect passive information, which includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, referral URLs, your location, and other session data.

With regards to transactions we collect the following information the name, address and occupation or, where appropriate, the business or principal activity of each person conducting a transaction and, if known, on whose behalf the transaction is being conducted; and the date and specific time of each transaction i.e when it was initiated and completed; and the type, value or amount of currency involved in the transaction, including what denomination purchased or sold on the Site and the name, and any payment instructions; and a description of the transactions, the name of the officer, employee or agent who prepared the report of the transaction; and the total amount of fees and charges received and paid to, by or on its behalf

How we use that information

We collect your personal information to provide the Services to you. We notify you about your account activity, process transactions, provide customer support services, improve our product, identify, prevent, and report potentially suspicious, fraudulent, or illegal activities, and we notify you about important changes to our Terms of Use.

Other than as stated in this Privacy Policy, Bitfinance does not disclose any of your personal information to third parties unless required to do so by law enforcement, court order, or in compliance with legal reporting obligations.

How you can update your information

You can update your information at any point in time and you do so by contacting us through our customer support system.

We shall retain all information and transactional records for a period of at least five years from the date of their creation to ensure that we comply with our statutory obligations, and be able to assist in dispute resolution.

Should you wish to close your account please advise us through our customer services mechanism.
